Head of Procurement & Purchasing Operations Reporting to the CFO | Technology & Communications Managed Services | £75k - £90k A growing technology and communications managed services business is hiring a Head of Procurement & Purchasing Operations to lead its supplier strategy and purchasing operations.This is a commercially led role. You’ll own the relationships with the vendors and distributors behind the products and services the business resells, and you’ll report directly to the CFO. No one above you in procurement, so commercial decisions start and end with you.What you’ll be doing:Reviewing the vendor and distributor base, and cutting or restructuring relationships that are expensive or underperformingDeveloping and delivering the procurement strategy, including diversifying the supplier base and reducing concentration riskNegotiating commercial agreements that protect margin and deliver measurable savingsLeading and developing the Procurement & Supplier Management teamMaking sure purchasing operations and supplier payment processes run efficiently and support a strong customer experienceBringing commercial recommendations to the CFO and C-suite proactively, and making the case for themWhat we’re looking for:Procurement experience in telco, communications, IT managed services, infrastructure or recurring-revenue technologyEstablished relationships with technology vendors and distributors, and a working understanding of the hardware, software and services they supplyA track record of commercial results: savings, margin protection and better supplier terms, not only process or complianceExperience leading a procurement or purchasing team, alongside hands-on deliveryThe confidence to challenge suppliers and make recommendations to senior stakeholders without waiting to be askedThis suits a Procurement Manager or Senior Manager from a telco or technology business who is ready for their first Head of role, with direct access to the CFO and real influence over commercial outcomes.Hybrid, with 2–3 days a week at the City of London office.
