Industrial Drafter

This role will work for our client with HQ based in Canada.You will work under the supervision of our Drafting Department Manager under a progressive workload plan structured in three phases.TasksPhase 1 – Onboarding & Drawing ProductionCreate 2D technical drawings from provided 3D inputs (mainly standard parts to begin then more complex parts and assemblies);Update existing part drawings based on our methodologies;Learn and apply internal drafting standards and product ranges.Phase 2 – Targeted Subassembly ModificationsContribute to low-priority projects involving modifications to mechanical subassemblies;Update drawings based on functional or dimensional design changes;Produce detailed part and assembly drawings based on engineering input.Phase 3 – Project-Based AutonomyAnalyze and apply design change requirements from requirements specification;Modify or create 3D models at subassembly or multi-subassembly scale;Generate and update comprehensive drawing packages (assemblies + details);Write supporting technical documentation;Manage specific drafting projects independently, with milestone validations.Collaboration TermsFully remote work with daily meetings with our Drafting Department Manager;Use of collaborative tools (Teams, SharePoint, SmartSheet, etc.);Initial trial on a simple assignment (Phase 1) before gradually increasing responsibility.ProfileHold a vocational diploma in industrial drafting or equivalent;Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting or design;Ability to communicate in English (speaking, technical writing, reporting);Good knowledge of Autodesk Inventor;Good knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD;Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite;Ability to read and produce mechanical drawings according to industry standards.Personal QualitiesAnalytical mindset with the ability to objectively assess different solutions;Strong organizational skills and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setup;Attention to detail and thoroughness;Integrity and ethical conduct;Reliability, consistency, and punctuality.AssetsKnowledge of Autodesk Vault;Knowledge of Autodesk 3DS Max;Good understanding of machining, welding, and manufacturing methods;Interest in the field of sports and wellness; familiarity with gym equipment and exercises.
