Junior Accountant

Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in the Perth CBD office. Supporting the finance team with accurate and timely financial information with day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and broader finance functions.To be successful in the role, the following is essential:Bachelor’s degree in AccountingStrong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and practicesProficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting toolsExcellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesProven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a teamNational Police clearanceTo be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.Key responsibilities include:Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial recordsAssist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial reportsSupport BAS, GST, and other statutory compliance requirementsPrepare month-end journals, accruals, and related accounting adjustmentsAssist with maintaining and updating the fixed asset registerMaintain accurate financial records and supporting documentationProvide assistance during external audit processesWork closely with experienced team members while progressively taking on increased responsibilitiesContribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and reporting proceduresDevelop and maintain proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelProvide ad hoc support across financial accounting functions as requiredWhat we offerA permanent position working directly for Karara Mining LimitedAttractive salaryShort term incentive plan (Bonus)On-the-job training opportunities and development programs to further your technical and leadership skillsThe ability to salary sacrifice flights, parking, super and novated leasing etc.To learn more about, please visit www.kararamining.com.au
