Mooring Engineer/ Naval Architect Floating Offshore Wind | Mooring Analysis | OrcaFlexHelp shape the next generation of floating offshore wind mooring systems. TFI Marine Limited is looking for an experienced, hands-on mooring engineer who can combine strong OrcaFlex capability with sound engineering judgement to analyse, optimise and explain the performance of offshore mooring systems. The opportunityYou will join TFI Marine’s Modelling & Analysis Team and play a key role in the technical evaluation and development of SeaSpring technology, a mooring load and fatigue reduction device for floating offshore wind and other floating marine applications. You will build and verify numerical models, compare system behaviour with and without SeaSpring, identify performance opportunities and turn analysis into clear, defensible engineering recommendations. This role is ideal for an engineer who can independently carry out modelling and analysis tasks, exercise sound engineering judgement, and collaborate closely with colleagues through established team review and reporting processes. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in floating offshore wind, as well as professionals from relevant oil and gas and other offshore engineering backgrounds. What you will do· Design and analyse various types of mooring systems for floating offshore wind projects and other floating offshore applications.· Develop and review mooring layouts, line configurations, anchor patterns, and associated design specifications.· Assess metocean data and develop appropriate design load cases that reflect the relevant environmental and operational requirements.· Develop, build, and validate analysis models, and perform static and dynamic mooring analyses for Ultimate Limit State (ULS), Fatigue Limit State (FLS), and Accidental Limit State (ALS) assessments.· Evaluate changes in mooring-line peak tensions, fatigue performance, and platform response, including the effects of integrating SeaSpring technology into the mooring system.· Identify and assess mooring configurations and design options that enhance system performance while balancing engineering practicality, cost, installation requirements, and the integration of SeaSpring technology.· Ensure that all engineering work complies with applicable codes and standards, client specifications, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.· Prepare clear and concise technical reports, analysis summaries, and presentations for internal teams, customers, and project partners, tailoring the level of detail to the intended audience. What you will bringEssential experience and capabilities· Typically, 5-10 years of relevant experience in mooring engineering, naval architecture, or a closely related marine engineering discipline, with demonstrated experience in mooring analysis and floating structures.· Advanced, hands-on proficiency in OrcaFlex, including building and validating models, performing dynamic analyses, interpreting results, and applying findings to inform engineering and design decisions.· Proficiency in pre- and post-processing and data-analysis tools such as Python and MATLAB.· Sound knowledge of applicable offshore and marine codes and standards, including API, DNV, ISO, ABS, or equivalent requirements.Required Qualification· Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.· A master’s degree in offshore engineering, ocean engineering, naval architecture, or a related field is desirable.· Professional registration or chartered engineer status is preferred.Desirable experience· Experience in floating offshore wind, including floating platform and mooring system design or analysis.· Relevant oil and gas experience, such as FPSO moorings, offshore station keeping, risers or other floating systems.· Experience with fatigue assessment, coupled analysis, design optimisation, sensitivity studies or comparison of alternative mooring configurations.· Familiarity with applicable class/certification processes or independent technical assurance.· Exposure to fabrication, offshore installation, operations or the practical constraints of delivering offshore engineering solutions.· Experience with other mooring and hydrodynamic analysis software such as AQWA, MOSES, SIMA, or equivalent tools are preferred. Why join TFI Marine?· Be part of the renewable energy transition, helping to advance floating offshore wind technology and accelerate the delivery of a more sustainable, low carbon energy future.· Make a direct technical contribution to the development and application of SeaSpring, an innovative technology designed to reduce mooring loads and fatigue.· Work on real engineering challenges with potential implications for mooring system design, installation and lifecycle costs.· Have meaningful technical ownership and the opportunity to influence analysis methods, design decisions and product development.· Engage with offshore wind developers, engineering partners and certification stakeholders.· Work in a collaborative, technically focused environment where clear thinking, initiative and engineering quality matter.· Competitive compensation and benefits, including Employee Share Option scheme shares. Interested? If you have strong offshore mooring engineering experience and advanced OrcaFlex capability, we would welcome a conversation. Please send your CV and a short note outlining your relevant mooring analysis experience and the types of systems or projects you have worked on.
