Piping & Layout Engineer (Oil & Gas)

We are looking to engage an experienced Piping & Layout Engineer to support the engineering and design of an offshore wellhead platform.The successful candidate will review and coordinate piping design and platform layout, ensuring safety, operability, maintainability and constructability in accordance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesReview piping design and routing for flowlines, production headers, utility/service lines, flare and vent systems.Review piping isometrics, GA drawings, MTOs, line lists, equipment layouts, nozzle orientations and tie-in plans.Review and coordinate platform 3D models using AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar software.Ensure layouts provide appropriate accessibility, maintainability, equipment access, escape routes and crane reach.Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Structural and Instrumentation disciplines to resolve design and interface issues.Participate in 3D model reviews, HAZID/HAZOP and constructability reviews.Review piping classes, valves and inline components and coordinate requirements arising from piping stress analysis.Support the resolution of technical queries, deviations and design changes.Ensure compliance with relevant project specifications and international standards, including ASME B31.3, API, ISO and NORSOK, as applicable.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience following completion of the BSc degree.Strong experience in piping design and plant layout, preferably within offshore oil & gas facilities.Good knowledge of piping components, offshore platform layouts and international piping codes and standards.Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D; experience with PDMS/E3D or SP3D would be advantageous.Knowledge of relevant classification requirements, including DNV and ABS.Strong constructability and safety awareness with good multidisciplinary coordination skills.Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare technical specifications and reports.Hill International provides program, project, and construction management services for clients in a range of sectors undertaking major construction projects across the world.
