Senior GIS Developer

We are Hiring! Senior GIS DeveloperWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Developer to design, develop, integrate, and support enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and spatial solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS technologies, web GIS development, spatial databases, GIS services, system integrations, performance optimization, and production support.Key ResponsibilitiesGIS Application Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise GIS applications and spatial solutions.Web GIS Development: Develop interactive web mapping applications using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and modern web technologies.GIS Services Management: Develop, publish, configure, and maintain GIS services using ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Server.ArcGIS Platform Administration: Configure and work with ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online applications and services.Spatial Data Management: Design and develop spatial data models, geodatabases, layers, maps, and GIS workflows.GIS Automation & Geoprocessing: Develop GIS automation, data-processing, and geoprocessing solutions using Python and ArcPy.System Integration: Integrate GIS applications with enterprise and external systems using REST APIs, ArcGIS REST Services, web services, and database integrations.Spatial Database Development: Develop and maintain spatial databases using SQL Server, Oracle Spatial, or PostgreSQL/PostGIS.Spatial Analysis: Perform spatial queries, analysis, geoprocessing, and data transformation activities.Security & Access Control: Implement GIS application and service security, including users, roles, groups, permissions, and access controls.Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize GIS applications, spatial queries, map services, databases, and integration performance.Technical Design & Architecture: Participate in technical design, solution architecture, code reviews, and effort estimation.Deployment & Production Support: Support deployments across Development, Testing, UAT, and Production environments. Provide technical support and root cause analysis for production GIS issues.Standards & Compliance: Ensure compliance with GIS development best practices, security standards, coding standards, and SDLC processes.Technical Leadership: Mentor junior GIS developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, UI/UX, QA, DevOps, database, and integration teams in an Agile environment.Required Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Information Technology, or a related discipline.5–7+ years of software/GIS development experience, including at least 3–5 years of hands-on enterprise GIS development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS technologies, including ArcGIS Enterprise/Server, Portal, and ArcGIS Online.Strong experience developing web GIS applications using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.Strong experience with Python and ArcPy for GIS automation and geoprocessing.Experience developing and consuming ArcGIS REST APIs and RESTful services.Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, coordinate systems, projections, geocoding, and geoprocessing.Good knowledge of spatial databases, SQL, geodatabases, and spatial data modeling.Experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle Spatial, or PostgreSQL/PostGIS.Experience publishing and managing map, feature, geoprocessing, and other GIS services.Good understanding of enterprise application security, authentication, authorization, roles, and permissions.Experience with GIS application deployment and environment configuration.Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, or equivalent tools.Strong communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills.Nice to HaveEsri Technical Certification or equivalent GIS certification.Experience acting as a GIS Technical Lead on enterprise projects.Experience with ArcGIS Pro SDK, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, or ArcGIS Field Maps.Experience with .NET/C# or other backend development technologies for GIS solutions.Experience with GeoJSON, WMS, WFS, WMTS, OGC standards, and interoperability between GIS platforms.Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, Asset Management, IoT, CAD, BIM, or Smart City platforms.Experience with cloud-hosted GIS solutions on Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.Experience working on large-scale enterprise or government GIS applications.How to ApplyIf you have strong enterprise GIS development experience and are passionate about building scalable, high-performance spatial solutions, we would love to hear from you.Please share your updated CV or apply directly.Know someone who would be a great fit?
