Location: Amsterdam, site-basedSalary: €80,000 to €90,000 + rotation packageI’m recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a contractor delivering major data centre projects in Amsterdam.You’ll oversee the technical delivery of mechanical building services, working closely with site teams, designers and subcontractors from installation through to commissioning and handover.

This would suit someone with experience on data centres, pharmaceutical facilities or other technically demanding building services projects.ResponsibilitiesProvide mechanical engineering support to the construction team, resolving technical queries and installation issues.Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions to ensure works meet project requirements.Coordinate mechanical installations with electrical, CSA and specialist packages.Monitor subcontractor progress and quality, highlighting issues that could affect delivery.Support procurement by checking equipment specifications and tracking technical approvals.Carry out inspections and help close out defects and outstanding works.Support testing, commissioning and the completion of handover documentation.Guide junior engineers and maintain clear communication with the wider project team.RequirementsA relevant qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.Strong experience delivering mechanical building services on construction projects.Experience in data centres, pharmaceutical facilities or similarly complex technical environments.A sound understanding of HVAC, pipework and associated mechanical systems.Confidence reviewing technical information and coordinating with designers and subcontractors.Good organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.Availability to work on site in Amsterdam with rotation travel.PackageSalary of €80,000 to €90,000Eligible candidates may receive up to 30% of their salary tax free under the Dutch expat scheme in 2026, reducing to 27% from 2027, subject to approval.Return flights on rotation every second weekSole accommodation with utilities paidAdditional allowance on top of salaryIn-country travelFor a confidential discussion, contact Gearóid Hughes at gearoid@lumensearch.ie.
