Senior Project Manager – Engineering & New Product Development

Location: Leicestershire (On Site)Salary: £55,000–£70,000 (DOE)Sector: Advanced Engineering | Complex Equipment | R&DAre you an experienced Project Manager who enjoys leading complex engineering projects from concept through to production?Have you managed new product development involving mechanical, electrical, electronics and software teams?Would you like to help shape a developing Project Management Office within an established international engineering manufacturer?I'm supporting a global manufacturer of technically sophisticated engineering equipment in the appointment of a Senior Project Manager.The business develops complex electromechanical products for demanding industrial and high-technology applications.With a renewed focus on project delivery, the organisation is establishing a more structured Project Management Office (PMO), creating an opportunity for someone to take ownership of key engineering programmes and influence how projects are managed.The OpportunityYou'll lead multidisciplinary New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, coordinating Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Systems Engineering and Manufacturing teams.This is a commercially important role, taking responsibility for project planning, budgets, resources and delivery, while helping improve project governance and accountability.What You'll Be DoingLead complex engineering projects from initial requirements through to prototype development, production readiness and launch.Develop and manage project plans, budgets, resources, milestones and delivery schedules.Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring clear priorities and accountability.Identify project risks, resolve delivery challenges and communicate progress to senior stakeholders.Help establish PMO processes, project reporting and governance, improving consistency across R&D programmes.What We're Looking ForProven experience managing NPD/NPI projects involving complex electromechanical equipment or engineered products.Strong project management skills covering planning, budgeting, resource allocation and risk management.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electronics and software.Familiarity with traditional/waterfall project management; knowledge of Agile or hybrid approaches would be useful.A practical, adaptable approach, with the confidence to influence engineers and senior stakeholders.Why Consider It?Opportunity to influence and develop a growing PMO function.Take ownership of technically challenging engineering projects.Work closely with experienced R&D and operational teams.Join an established international manufacturer with long-term product development programmes.£55,000–£70,000 salary plus healthcare.If you're a Senior Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager or NPI Project Manager who enjoys driving projects forward and improving how engineering teams deliver, I'd be keen to speak with you.Apply or contact me directly for a confidential discussion.
