Software Engineering Internship Summer 2027Location Seattle WAA high growth venture backed startup based in Seattle that is redefining how the worlds most complex large scale programs are managed. Having recently secured significant Series A funding and major government contracts they are building a real time platform that operates across diverse security environments to replace outdated spreadsheets and legacy systems. They are looking for talented interns to join them in Seattle for a twelve week program starting in June 2027.Unlike traditional internships you will not be working on side projects. You will be a full member of the engineering team from week one shipping actual features to production that impact customers in sectors like aerospace robotics and advanced manufacturing. You will be supported by a dedicated mentor and participate in a fast paced collaborative environment where high velocity and low ego are the norms.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and launch customer facing features across the entire technical stack.Participate in the complete software development lifecycle including design testing and deployment.Collaborate with product and design teams to solve complex technical problems.Engage in code reviews and contribute to engineering documentation.Present your work at company wide demonstrations.Gain experience with production debugging and continuous deployment pipelines.Technical EnvironmentThe core stack consists of React TypeScript HTML5 CSS3 and Tailwind on the frontend.The backend utilizes Go SQL and REST APIs within a microservices architecture.The team also works with Python and Rust.Tools include GitHub Actions Playwright React Testing Library and Linear.The role typically involves a split of sixty percent frontend and forty percent backend work.Candidate RequirementsCurrently enrolled as a junior in an undergraduate program or pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.Expected graduation date should be within eighteen months of the internship.Practical knowledge of React TypeScript or JavaScript along with HTML and CSS.A solid understanding of how frontend and backend systems interact via REST APIs.Prior exposure to Go SQL or similar backend languages through school or personal projects.Ability to thrive in a fast paced startup environment and adapt to shifting priorities.Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.US Person status is required due to government export control regulations.Program Details and CompensationThe internship lasts 12 weeks with flexible dates between June and September 2027.This is an onsite position in Seattle and you must live in the area for the duration.The pay rate is 45 dollars per hour.The process involves a technical assessment followed by video interviews and a final onsite technical interview.If you are a curious engineer who wants to build software for the next generation of rockets and complex infrastructure please submit your application.
