Water Pump Technician

Job Summary:The Water Pump Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of water pumps, irrigation pumping stations, lake circulation systems, fountains, and related equipment across the golf course. The role ensures efficient water distribution, optimal lake water quality, and uninterrupted operation of irrigation and water management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain water pumps, pump stations, filtration systems, and lake circulation equipment.Perform routine inspections of lakes, reservoirs, pipelines, valves, and pump houses.Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults in pumping systems.Monitor water levels, pressure readings, flow rates, and system performance.Assist in maintaining lake water quality through aeration, filtration, and circulation systems.Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules.Ensure irrigation pumps are operating efficiently to support golf course irrigation requirements.Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and system failures.Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and equipment reports.Coordinate with irrigation and golf course maintenance teams regarding water management requirements.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Monitor fuel, spare parts, and maintenance material inventory.Qualifications & Experience:Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field.Minimum 2-3 years of experience maintaining water pumps, irrigation systems, utilities, or water treatment equipment.Experience in golf courses, landscaping, irrigation, resorts, or water management operations is preferred.Knowledge of pump motors, electrical controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and piping systems.Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.Skills & Competencies:Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.Knowledge of irrigation and water distribution systems.Understanding of lake and water management operations.Preventive maintenance planning.Teamwork and communication skills.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Good organizational and time-management skills.
