Assistant Manager, Research

Job PurposeWe are seeking a highly analytical and research-driven Assistant Manager, Research to support strategic planning and decision-making by conducting detailed analysis of financial and non-financial data, preparing feasibility studies and delivering accurate reports and insights to management and stakeholders.Key AccountabilitiesConduct comprehensive transport and market research, including demand, passenger behavior and market outlook studies to support strategic business planning and policy development.Monitor and analyse emerging mobility trends, industry developments and best practices relevant to public transport operators.Provide research insights and analytical inputs to support transport planning studies, business cases and long-term transport initiatives.Maintain relevant data and knowledge resources to enable consistent, evidence-based decision-making.Assist in obtaining data/input related to economic, ridership, statistics and operational insights to support government agendas (e.g. NACCOL, My50, Buku Statistik Pengangkutan, Sesi Pemukiman Daya Saing Negara).Coordinate the preparation of slides for internal usage such as slides for management, forums etc.Execute strategic initiatives/projects, ensuring timely completion and consistent alignment with the objectives.Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational mission and objectives.Qualifications, Skills & KnowledgeRelevant bachelor's degree (Preferably: Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Finance or any relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent or higher)5 - 8 years of progressive experience in research, economics or related fields.Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial & non-financial data.Analytical thinking and interpretation of research findings.Proficiency in conducting feasibility studies.Effective stakeholder and inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment on initiatives.Excellent skills in report writing (report and slides), consolidation and presentation of findings to management and stakeholders.Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Words, PowerPoint, and Excel) for reporting and presentations.Expertise in statistical tools (SPSS / Python / R) for data modelling and predictive analytics.Proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) for dashboard creation and performance monitoring.Interested candidates are invited to apply and be part of our journey towards delivering sustainable and efficient public transport solutions.
