Backend Engieer

About the RoleJoin an overseas backend team, reporting to the regional tech lead. You will investigate and fix production issues, provide day-to-day data queries and analysis, and contribute to the design and development of App backend modules. The role calls for solid backend fundamentals, strong data and debugging skills, and working operational competence. The mix of these responsibilities will shift with business needs.

Responsibilities

Production issue investigation: use logs, monitoring, tracing, and data backtracking to quickly find root causes of errors, user reports, and data anomalies; ship fixes and document postmortemsBackend development: design and build App backend modules (Java / Spring Boot / MySQL / Redis), including API implementation, database design, and maintenance of existing codeData query and analysis support: under the company's data classification and access policies, fulfill data requests from product, operations, and customer support with accurate, reproducible resultsRelease and operations: perform routine releases, rollbacks, and configuration changes under the regional lead's guidance; help maintain monitoring and alerting and take part in incident responseTooling and automation: turn recurring investigations into SQL templates, runbooks, and self-service tools to reduce repetitive workQuality and stability: participate in code review, automated testing, and release processes to protect delivery quality and production stability

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above; Computer Science / Software Engineering preferred4+ years of Java backend developmentProficient in Java and Spring Boot; able to independently design modules, build APIs, and maintain code; familiar with Spring CloudStrong MySQL skills: multi-table joins, aggregations, window functions; understanding of indexing and execution plansFamiliar with Redis; understands typical use cases for Kafka / RocketMQHands-on production troubleshooting experience: comfortable with logs and tracing, able to follow code to the root cause and drive fixesDevOps skills as described belowRigorous and detail-oriented; committed to accurate, reproducible results and documented investigationsDevOps Requirements:Working knowledge of basic AWS services (EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, IAM); able to inspect resource status and basic logsComfortable with Docker; able to deploy, roll back, and inspect logs and Pod status on KubernetesAble to read monitoring dashboards and logs in Grafana / ELK and interpret common metricsAble to configure and use CI/CD pipelines according to team standardsNice to Have:Experience supporting high-traffic production services and stability workExperience triaging customer complaints or support ticketsExperience with multi-region products; comfortable with cross-time-zone collaboration
