The Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately, handling cash, card, and digital payments, issuing receipts, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and assisting customers, answering basic inquiries about services or products, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The role also involves verifying prices, applying discounts or promotions, reconciling daily sales reports, and promptly reporting any discrepancies to a supervisor. The Cashier works closely with other team members to ensure efficient service, a positive customer experience, and adherence to organizational policies.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong numeracy, attention to detail, and basic cash handling skills.Candidates should possess effective customer service, active listening, and interpersonal communication skills.Candidates should possess basic computer literacy, familiarity with point-of-sale systems, and the ability to learn new software tools.Candidates should possess time management, reliability, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.Candidates should possess integrity, a commitment to following financial procedures, and respect for confidentiality in handling transactions.Prior experience in a cashier, retail, or customer-facing role is beneficial.High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Ability to stand for extended periods and handle routine physical tasks related to cashiering.
