Director Project Management

We are seeking a strategic and business-focused Director of Project Management, ERP Strategy to lead enterprise ERP initiatives, transformation programs, and project delivery across the organization.This leader will be responsible for developing and executing the organization's ERP roadmap, overseeing ERP-related project portfolios, advancing business process modernization efforts, and ensuring successful implementation and optimization of enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience leading large-scale ERP programs, managing cross-functional business and technology teams, and driving organizational transformation through technology.The Director will partner closely with executive leadership, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Sales, and IT teams to align ERP investments with business objectives, improve operational performance, and maximize enterprise value.ERP Strategy & Transformation LeadershipDevelop and execute the organization's ERP strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.Lead enterprise transformation initiatives involving ERP modernization, digital process improvement, and operational optimization.Partner with executive stakeholders to identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and business capability enhancement.Establish ERP governance models that align technology investments with strategic business priorities.Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on ERP initiatives, transformation risks, organizational readiness, and investment decisions.Drive adoption of industry best practices related to ERP, business process management, and enterprise application governance.Enterprise Program & Portfolio ManagementLead a portfolio of ERP and enterprise application initiatives across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Procurement, Customer Service, and Operations.Oversee project prioritization, resource planning, budgeting, and delivery governance.Ensure successful execution of ERP implementations, upgrades, optimizations, integrations, and cloud migration initiatives.Establish executive reporting structures, KPIs, and portfolio dashboards to provide transparency into project health, financial performance, and business outcomes.Manage dependencies, risks, and organizational impacts across multiple strategic initiatives.Business Process ModernizationCollaborate with business leaders to redesign and optimize end-to-end business processes.Lead process improvement initiatives supporting increased efficiency, scalability, compliance, and customer experience.Facilitate current-state and future-state process assessments.Drive standardization across business functions while balancing operational requirements and organizational change.Ensure ERP solutions support evolving business needs and long-term growth strategies.Governance, Change Management & Organizational ReadinessEstablish governance frameworks supporting ERP investments, business case approvals, and transformation execution.Lead executive steering committees and transformation governance reviews.Partner with business stakeholders to develop change management, training, communication, and adoption strategies.Champion organizational readiness and user adoption throughout ERP implementations and business transformation programs.Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned and performance metrics.Financial & Vendor ManagementDevelop and manage ERP program budgets and multi-year investment plans.Build business cases, ROI analyses, and value realization frameworks.Manage relationships with ERP vendors, implementation partners, system integrators, and consulting firms.Negotiate contracts, statements of work, and service agreements to ensure successful outcomes and cost effectiveness.Monitor program financial performance and benefit realization.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop project managers, program managers, business analysts, and PMO professionals.Build organizational capabilities in project management, business transformation, and ERP delivery.Foster collaboration between business and technology teams.Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or related field.10+ years of progressive experience leading ERP programs, enterprise applications, or large-scale transformation initiatives.5+ years in a leadership role managing project teams, PMOs, transformation offices, or ERP delivery organizations.Demonstrated success leading enterprise ERP implementations, upgrades, or modernization efforts.Strong knowledge of project portfolio management, governance models, and organizational change management.Experience managing multimillion-dollar project budgets and complex vendor relationships.Strong executive communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.Preferred QualificationsExperience leading programs involving SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor, Workday, Acumatica, Epicor, NetSuite, Sage X3, or similar enterprise platforms.PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Prosci Change Management, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe, or comparable certifications.Experience with ERP cloud migration, business process reengineering, and digital transformation initiatives.Background in manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, financial services, consumer products, or complex enterprise environments.Experience managing global implementations and cross-functional business transformation programs.
