Inspector - SDBRC Plant - Punjab / Sindh (Rural) / KPK | NAFSA

This position is being recruited by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA). NAFSA is being established as a strategic national initiative to strengthen Pakistan's agri-trade ecosystem through enhanced regulatory oversight, facilitation, and modernization of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA's foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct plant pest surveillance and monitoring activities in farms, nurseries, markets, storage areas, and other approved premises in accordance with notified programmes and SOPsCollect official samples of plants, plant products, pests, and related material for diagnostic analysis, ensuring chain of custody and documentationSupport diagnostic coordination through proper sample handling, dispatch, follow-up of results, and maintenance of diagnostic recordsInspect registered and applicant plant-related businesses and facilities (nurseries, packhouses, warehouses, treatment providers, etc.) to verify compliance with approval conditions and regulatory requirementsSupport audits and verification exercises by providing field verification reports and compliance observationsMaintain accurate field inspection, surveillance, sampling, and compliance records, including entry into prescribed databases/information systemsParticipate in delimiting surveys, emergency response actions, and verification missions as directedMaintain professional conduct, integrity, and confidentiality and ensure compliance with notified laws, rules, SOPs, and international phytosanitary principlesPerform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA's mandateRequirementsEducationB.Sc. (Hons.) (Minimum sixteen years) in Agriculture with specialization in Entomology, Plant Protection, Plant Pathology, Weed Science or related fieldExperience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in field surveillance/inspection or plant protectionAbility to conduct fieldwork and follow sampling/inspection protocolsBasic computer skills for reporting and data entry; strong integrityFor contact, kindly reach out to hr.support@psw.gov.pk.
