Senior ML Researcher - System SecurityHelsinki, Finland | OnsiteA global technology and R&D organisation is seeking a Senior ML Researcher - System Security to develop AI-driven solutions for emerging cybersecurity challenges across computing platforms, operating systems and connected devices. This role combines hands-on machine learning research with practical system security, with opportunities to translate research into real-world technology.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and evaluate ML models for malware detection, intrusion detection, anomaly detection and threat identification.Apply ML to security telemetry, system logs, network data, binaries and low-level system behaviour.Build research prototypes and assess model robustness, accuracy and false positives.Collaborate with specialists across ML, cybersecurity, operating systems and computer architecture.Required Experience & SkillsEssentialPhD or equivalent research-level expertise in ML, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.Strong hands-on ML research experience, including neural networks, transformers and/or probabilistic ML.Cybersecurity experience, particularly malware detection, intrusion detection or security analytics.Strong Python and ML framework skills, with experience designing and evaluating experiments.Understanding of operating systems, computer architecture and systems-level concepts.Strong analytical skills and excellent English communication.DesirableC/C++/Rust, operating-system internals, kernels, firmware or embedded systems.Hardware security, vulnerability research or software/firmware attacks.By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
