Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester 653

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester to join a new team based out of Herndon, VA!

Responsibilities

Assist the Sponsor in the evaluation of software and associated documentationCollaborate with customers to evaluate or diagnose problems; recommend possible solutionsConduct historical analyses of test resultsConduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environmentsCoordinate user or third party testingCreate or maintain databases of known test defectsDevelop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usabilityDesign or develop automated testing toolsDesign test plans, scenarios, scripts, or proceduresDocument test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standardsEstimate software development costs and scheduleDevelop and define characteristics of quality including quality metrics and scoring parameters; determine requisite quality control resourcesDevelop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readinessDocument software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developersEvaluate or recommend software for testing or bug trackingIdentify program deviance from standards; suggest modifications to ensure complianceIdentify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or contentInstall and configure recreations of software production environments to allow testing of software performanceInstall, maintain, or use software testing programsMonitor bug resolution efforts and track successesMonitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operationsParticipate in formal and informal reviews to determine qualityParticipate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problemsPerform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown sourcePlan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery datesProvide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionalityProvide technical support during software installation or configurationReview software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risksTest system modifications to prepare for implementationUpdate automated test scripts to ensure currencyUtilize beta testing sites to evaluate software performance

Qualifications
