Solutions Engineer – Drone Dock & Robotic Solutions

Location: Dubai, UAE Experience: Minimum 3 years in software development, cloud integration, IT systems integration or a closely related role.About the RoleWe are seeking a Solutions Engineer with a strong background in coding, cloud platforms and IT systems integration to support the development, deployment and integration of automated drone docking stations and robotic solutions.The successful candidate will translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions, connect hardware and software platforms, and manage deployments across cloud, on-premises and private network environments.

The role combines software development, infrastructure configuration, troubleshooting and customer-facing technical support.Previous drone industry experience is an added advantage but is not mandatory.Key Responsibilities- Design and implement integrated solutions involving automated drone docking stations, robotic platforms, cloud services and customer IT infrastructure.- Develop and maintain software integrations, APIs, scripts and automation workflows to connect devices, applications and enterprise systems.- Deploy, configure and support manufacturers’ software platforms and related solution components, including supported on-premises deployments.- Set up and manage Linux servers, Docker containers and Docker Compose environments, including networking, storage, environment variables and service dependencies.- Configure secure connectivity between field equipment, servers and command centres, working with customer IT teams on routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS and access requirements.- Support private container registries and CI/CD workflows for controlled application deployment and updates.- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot software, container, network and integration issues through log analysis and structured diagnostics.- Plan for system availability, scalability, backup and recovery, including load balancing and database resilience where required.- Conduct technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, integration testing, commissioning and customer acceptance testing.- Prepare solution architecture diagrams, deployment guides, technical proposals and handover documentation.- Work closely with sales teams, customers, manufacturers and technology partners to assess feasibility, resolve technical issues and deliver projects.- Provide customer training and ongoing technical support following deployment.Required Qualifications and Technical Skills- At least 3 years of relevant practical experience in software engineering, cloud integration, systems integration, DevOps, IoT or automation solutions.- Strong programming ability in one or more relevant languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or C++, with demonstrated integration or automation projects.- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, working with SDKs, authentication methods and data exchange between systems.- Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or equivalent, including application deployment, connectivity and access management.- Strong Linux fundamentals, including file systems, permissions, user administration, services and network configuration.- Practical knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose, including image management, container lifecycle, volumes, networking and troubleshooting.- Understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, network segmentation, ports, DNS, routing, firewalls and VPNs.- Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates, HTTPS, access controls and container security, including security scanning and network isolation.- Familiarity with Git, private container registries and CI/CD tools, such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.- Ability to diagnose deployment and compatibility issues, analyse logs, monitor resource usage and optimise application performance.- Strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical requirements to customers and internal teams.- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Added Advantages- Experience with automated drone docking stations, drone fleet management platforms and manufacturers’ APIs or SDKs.- Experience integrating robotic systems, IoT devices, autonomous platforms or industrial automation solutions.- Familiarity with MQTT, WebSockets, telemetry, live video streaming or ROS/ROS 2- Knowledge of Nginx, load balancing, database high availability and multi-node deployments.- Basic Kubernetes knowledge, including pods, services and application configuration.- Experience migrating applications to containerised environments and resolving compatibility issues.- Relevant cloud, networking, Linux or DevOps certifications.Ideal CandidateA practical engineer who can write code, connect systems, deploy applications and resolve infrastructure issues, while confidently working with customers to deliver reliable drone docking and robotic solutions.
