Information Technology Support Engineer

IT Support Technician | Global Investment Bank | [London] |Want to support the technology behind a fast-paced trading floor? My client, a well-established global investment bank, is hiring an IT Support Technician for its European IT team. You’ll report to the Endpoint Support Manager.The roleYou’ll be the first point of contact for the bank’s users. You’ll keep desktops, laptops, phones, printers and AV kit running smoothly across the business, often under real time pressure. Your day-to-day will include:Taking user calls, logging tickets and resolving incidents and service requests quickly and accuratelyInstalling, configuring and troubleshooting PCs, laptops, desk phones and mobile devicesAdministering Windows and Apple environments and the software that runs on themSupporting AV and meeting rooms (Zoom Rooms, MS Teams), from small rooms to large theatre-style eventsSupporting market data applications such as Bloomberg, Fidessa and RefinitivHandling user accounts and groups in Active Directory and MS EntraWorking with vendors, carrying out installs, moves and changes, and helping with hardware refresh projectsMonitoring performance, recommending improvements and keeping documentation up to dateWhat you’ll bringSolid hands-on experience in a helpdesk or service desk roleStrong Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 / Office support skillsActive Directory and Entra user administration, including security and distribution groups, OUs, GPOs and ideally MIMA good grasp of networking basics: TCP/IP, DHCP and DNSHardware troubleshooting and repair across PCs, laptops and printersKnowledge of Cisco and IPC telephony and of enterprise mobile device managementFamiliarity with endpoint security (antivirus, anti-malware, DLP)A customer-first attitude and a methodical approach to problem solvingNice to haveExperience in financial services, ideally in a trading environmentExposure to Bloomberg, Fidessa or RefinitivITIL knowledgeGood to knowYou’ll work one of several support rotas, and you may occasionally be contacted out of hours for urgent incidents or disaster recoveryThe role is subject to FCA Conduct RulesThis is a great chance to build your career in a high-profile financial services setting, with exposure to specialist trading technology that will set your CV apart.Interested?
