About the RoleMANAL AJAJ, a Dubai-based luxury couture house, is seeking an exceptionally skilled Master Pattern Maker & Cutter with advanced expertise in manual and digital pattern making, couture construction, precision cutting and bespoke fitting.The candidate must be capable of translating complex design concepts into impeccably constructed garments while maintaining the highest standards of haute couture craftsmanship.Key ResponsibilitiesPattern Development: Create complex manual and CAD patterns from sketches, technical drawings and draped concepts.Couture Expertise: Develop intricate patterns for evening gowns, bridalwear, corsetry, sculptural silhouettes, capes and luxury womenswear.Master Cutting: Personally execute precision cutting of delicate, expensive and embellished couture fabrics.Draping & Fitting: Expert-level moulage, toile development, bespoke fittings, silhouette corrections and pattern adjustments.Garment Engineering: Strong command of boning, internal structures, bust support, complex construction and couture finishing.CAD Proficiency: Digitisation, pattern modifications, grading and marker making using Lectra, Gerber, Optitex or equivalent.Atelier Coordination: Work closely with designers, tailors and embroidery teams to ensure flawless execution from sampling to final garment.Quality Control: Maintain accurate master patterns, minimise fabric wastage and ensure technical precision across production.Essential Skills & Qualifications10–15+ years of hands-on experience in haute couture, luxury bridal or high-fashion ateliers.Exceptional mastery of manual pattern drafting, CAD pattern making and hands-on cutting — all mandatory.Advanced expertise in draping, corsetry, asymmetric designs, structured silhouettes and complex garment construction.In-depth knowledge of silk, organza, chiffon, velvet, lace, tulle and heavily embellished fabrics.Excellent understanding of garment balance, proportions, couture fit and body measurements.Ability to independently resolve technical challenges and guide atelier teams.Previous experience with an established couture house or luxury designer label preferred.Application RequirementsCandidates must submit their CV, couture portfolio and details of CAD software proficiency.A practical skill assessment in manual pattern making, CAD, draping and precision cutting is mandatory for shortlisted candidates.
