Medical Officer – Anaesthesia

Minimum Qualifications MBBS or equivalent medical qualification Full registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) Training and experience in Anaesthesia are an added advantages. Key Responsibilities Assist Consultant Anaesthetists in administering anaesthesia for cardiac surgeries. Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments and assist in developing anaesthesia plans under supervision. Monitor patients intraoperatively and postoperatively to ensure safety and timely intervention. Assist with airway management, ventilation, and haemodynamic monitoring. Respond to perioperative and medical emergencies until senior support is available. Ensure accurate and timely anaesthesia-related documentation. Prepare, check, and ensure safe use of anaesthesia equipment, monitors, and medications. Support postoperative pain management and recovery room care. Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols and patient safety guidelines. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and incident reporting. Follow hospital policies, consultants’ instructions, and ethical standards. Engage in training, CPD activities, and perform other duties assigned by the CMO, CEO-DMS, DDMS or Management. Ensure effective collaboration with surgical and anaesthetic teams.
