Mining - Mechanical foreman/Site Manager

**Mechanical Foreman / Site Manager – Mining (Drill Rig Focus)** **Location:** South Africa | Mining site based **Employment type:** Full-timeWe are looking for an experienced **Mechanical Foreman / Site Manager** to lead mechanical and site maintenance teams on a mining operation, with a strong focus on **drill rig** reliability, safety, and production support.**The role**- Lead day-to-day mechanical / engineering activities on site as Foreman or Site Manager- Own planned maintenance, breakdown response, and machine availability for drill fleets and related equipment- Manage artisans, and technicians against safety, quality, cost, and availability - Ensure compliance with MHSA and site standards - Control spares and critical equipment readiness- Coach and develop teams; drive a strong safety culture- Coordinate with production, mining, and OEM**Minimum requirements**- Matric (Grade 12)- Proven **mining experience** (underground)- Hands-on **drill rig experience** (maintenance, supervision, or both) — surface or underground fleets- Proven experience **managing a mining site or section** - Medically fit for mining work (pass mine medical)- Valid driver’s licence- Willingness to work shifts, standby, and site-based roster as required**Advantageous**- Artisan trade (Fitter, Electrician, Millwright, or Diesel Mechanic — Red Seal / Section 13 or 26D)- Foreman Certificate of Competence / supervisory qualification- MHSA 2.9.2 (or similar) legal appointment experience- OEM product training on Sandvik, Epiroc, Atlas Copco, Furukawa, or equivalent drill rigs**What we need from you**Someone who has already run a site or section, keeps drill equipment available, leads people safely, and can operate under production pressure without cutting corners on quality or compliance.**To apply**Send your CV and a short note on your drill-rig and site-management experience via LinkedIn Easy Apply / message, or email: **cv@hydropowersystems.co.za**Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
