We value experienced construction professionals who can share their expertise and help learners build practical skills for successful careers in the built environment.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveying Coach / Cost Estimator Trainer to deliver online training and practical guidance in quantity surveying, construction estimating, and cost management. In this part-time remote role, you will help learners understand measurement techniques, prepare cost estimates, interpret construction drawings, and apply industry-standard practices to real-world projects.The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of construction costs and contract administration, combined with excellent teaching and communication abilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver online training sessions covering quantity surveying, construction estimating, and cost management.Teach quantity take-offs, material measurement, bills of quantities (BOQs), and cost breakdown preparation.Explain construction drawings, specifications, measurement methods, and estimation procedures.Guide learners through labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost calculations.Develop training materials, practical exercises, sample BOQs, and construction cost case studies.Provide instruction on tender preparation, bid evaluation, contract documentation, and variation management.Explain cost planning, budgeting, valuation, and project financial control techniques.Introduce learners to relevant estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital measurement tools.Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback on technical accuracy and estimating methods.Share practical insights into construction procurement, contract administration, and cost reporting.Monitor industry developments, construction pricing trends, and relevant professional practices.Maintain organized training materials, learner records, and progress reports.RequirementsAt least 3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, construction estimating, cost engineering, or construction project management preferred.A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimation, budgeting, and construction measurement.Familiarity with construction drawings, technical specifications, tender documentation, and contract administration.Experience with estimating tools or software such as CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent platforms is an advantage.Previous experience in teaching, coaching, mentoring, or professional training is preferred.Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and presentation abilities.Ability to explain technical concepts through practical examples and real-world scenarios.Professional integrity and the ability to manage training activities independently.What We OfferFlexible part-time work in a fully remote setting.Opportunities to support professional development in construction and cost management.A professional environment that values technical accuracy, practical knowledge, and collaboration.Engagement with learners and professionals from diverse construction backgrounds.The opportunity to share industry expertise and help develop the next generation of quantity surveying and estimating professionals.
