This is an excellent opportunity for experienced specialists seeking career growth, a competitive salary, and a rewarding professional environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic disordersEvaluate and treat GERD, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)Perform upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy within authorized clinical privilegesConduct endoscopic biopsies, polypectomy, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, where appropriately trained and credentialedDiagnose and manage liver diseases, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and gastrointestinal infectionsEvaluate patients presenting with abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, dysphagia, and chronic digestive symptomsInterpret diagnostic investigations, including liver function tests, stool studies, abdominal ultrasound, CT scans, and endoscopic findingsDevelop individualized treatment plans and provide long-term management for chronic gastrointestinal conditionsManage gastrointestinal emergencies, including acute GI bleeding, in coordination with emergency and critical care teamsCollaborate with general surgeons, hepatologists, radiologists, pathologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionalsEnsure compliance with DOH regulations, endoscopy safety protocols, infection control, and patient safety standardsRequirementsQualificationMBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degreeRecognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, followed by appropriate specialization or subspecialty training in GastroenterologyBoard certification or equivalent recognized specialist-level qualificationAmerican Board, UK, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirableMinimum 3-5 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred, subject to applicable licensing requirementsStrong expertise in gastrointestinal disease management, diagnostic endoscopy, colonoscopy, and hepatologyExperience in therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, or endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is an added advantageEligible for DOH Specialist Gastroenterology classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements and clinical privilegesBenefitsCompetitive salary package and attractive employment benefitsOpportunity to work in a leading healthcare facility in Abu DhabiModern endoscopy suites and advanced gastrointestinal diagnostic technologiesMedical insurance and annual leave, subject to applicable employment termsExcellent career growth and professional development opportunitiesLicensing assistance available for eligible candidates
