Location: Dubai, United Arab EmiratesClient: Leading Sovereign Wealth FundAbout the OpportunityBrock & Decker is working with a leading sovereign wealth fund based in Dubai to recruit an Associate for its Private Equity investment team.The role will support the evaluation, execution and monitoring of international private equity investments, spanning fund commitments and co-investments alongside established investment managers.Working closely with senior investment professionals, you will contribute to investment decisions through financial analysis, due diligence and commercial assessment, with a focus on identifying attractive businesses, understanding investment risks and supporting long-term value creation.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment evaluation: Assess private equity fund and co-investment opportunities, analysing investment strategies, business models, competitive positioning and potential returns.Financial modelling and valuation: Build and review financial models, including operating forecasts, leveraged buyout models, valuation analyses and investment-return scenarios.Due diligence: Support commercial and financial due diligence, evaluating business performance, market dynamics, management capabilities, capital structures and downside risks.Fund assessment: Analyse private equity managers’ investment strategies, team capabilities, track records, sourcing approaches and ability to create value.Investment recommendations: Prepare investment memoranda and committee materials, presenting the investment thesis, valuation, key risks and potential outcomes clearly.Transaction execution: Support investment processes, coordinating with external managers, advisers and internal legal, finance and investment colleagues.Portfolio monitoring: Review fund and co-investment performance, monitor company developments and assess progress against the original investment case.Market research: Analyse sectors, investment themes and transaction activity to help identify opportunities and inform investment decisions.Relationship management: Support ongoing engagement with private equity managers, advisers and other investment partners.Candidate ProfileRelevant experience in private equity, sovereign wealth funds, institutional private equity investing, co-investments or investment banking, particularly M&A or financial sponsors coverage.Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with a sound understanding of accounting, valuation, capital structures and investment returns.Experience evaluating businesses or transactions and contributing to investment or transaction due diligence.Exposure to private equity fund assessment, manager due diligence or co-investment underwriting would be particularly valuable.The ability to assess commercial opportunities critically and identify the assumptions that underpin an investment case.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, well-supported investment recommendations.A proactive, collaborative approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.Based in Dubai or willing to relocate.The OpportunityThis position offers exposure to international private equity investing within a sovereign investment institution, combining company-level investment analysis with an understanding of private equity managers and fund strategies.You will contribute across the investment process, from initial assessment and due diligence through to execution and portfolio monitoring, working alongside senior investment professionals and external investment partners.
