Head of Basketball Academy

Role Description The Head of Basketball Academy will oversee the strategic and operational management of the academy, ensuring high-quality coaching programs and a positive experience for all participants. Responsibilities include designing training curricula, supervising coaching staff, and implementing player development pathways across different age groups and skill levels. The role involves coordinating daily schedules, managing facilities and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and academy policies. The Head of Basketball Academy will also build relationships with parents, schools, and community partners, support talent identification and progression, and represent the academy at events and competitions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.QualificationsProven experience leading or managing a sports academy, club, or basketball program, with a strong background in coaching and player development.In-depth knowledge of basketball coaching methodologies, training drills, game strategies, and age-appropriate skill progression.Strong leadership and people-management skills, including the ability to mentor coaches, coordinate staff, and foster an inclusive team culture.Solid organizational and planning abilities for scheduling, resource management, and program administration.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage players, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Experience developing and implementing policies, standards, and performance metrics within a sports or educational environment.Relevant coaching certifications and/or sports management qualifications; a degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field is an advantage.Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, athlete well-being, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academy.Ability to work on-site in Dubai and collaborate across cultures in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
